The Bangladesh Research Society (BDRS) traces its roots to 2016, with the founding of the Dhaka University Research Society (DURS) — the first university student-led research organization in the country. This pioneering initiative sparked the vision for a nationwide platform dedicated to promoting research culture across educational institutions. With the mission to establish and connect research societies in every university, college, and school in Bangladesh, BDRS was formally launched in 2018 to motivate students in research activities. This is an interdisciplinary, youth and students’ friendly open knowledge sharing community in Bangladesh, which is mostly focused on flourishing, promoting and creating an environment for undergraduate research opportunities.
BDRS consists of graduate and undergraduate students of interdisciplinary, young researchers and scholars from all over Bangladesh. All the university student research societies, research clubs from colleges and schools are lifetime members of this organization. These organizations are recognized as core constituent bodies and lifetime members of the Bangladesh Research Society (BDRS).
All these organizations are actively working within their respective educational institutions to collectively advance the core mission of the Bangladesh Research Society (BDRS): fostering a culture of research. BDRS plays a central role in coordinating and guiding these efforts by offering strategic direction, sharing innovative ideas, and providing continuous support. In addition to facilitating networking among member bodies, BDRS is dedicated to fostering broader collaboration and creating greater opportunities for shared growth.
BDRS is mainly for undergraduate students to discuss, share ideas, collaborate and to learn more about interdisciplinary research, promises to ensure research culture among the undergraduate student community in Bangladesh. This organization further committed to the creation of a generation of research-minded people to lead the country in the upcoming days and to come in the joint efforts of research organizations for the benefit of youth and for the betterment of the university, community and country as well.
BDRS also provides information to undergraduate researchers about private foundations, government agencies, research institutions and other research organizations. Faculty members, staff, administrators, thinkers, content creators, managers & officials from all types of academic institutions and societies would be honorary members and mentors of BDRS. This research society connects professional researchers and freshmen, faculty members, PhD researchers, graduate researchers, students of undergraduates and their peers around the world.
BDRS also provides research opportunities, helps monograph & thesis writing, workshops, meetings, collaboration with seniors, high quality mentorship, assistantship, supervision, relationships with other undergraduate research societies around the world, arranges research-oriented talk, regular research programs, research summit, creative idea contest, student research symposium, seminars, conferences, Student Journal & Magazines, create podcast platforms & many more.
